Last night's Face The Fiction/Local Lore & History Panel/Holiday Dinner was marevelous! The panel
was great - Mr. Don Smith not only demonstrated his proficient emceeing skills, but also his
considerable knowledge of local history and folklore. Ms. Sandy Schlosser was of course her usual
lovely and delightful
self, and Mr. Gordon Thomas Ward was both intelligent and entertaining. Their anecdotes, ghost
stories and legends were a real treat.
The great food, great friends, and great fun were a grand blend for a memorable holiday
get-together. The William B. Mawhinney Memorial Ambulance Corps in Hawthorne was a very nice
facility. Kudos to Kelly Burke Rickley, Jo Brown and Ann-Marie for making the evening run flawlessly -
Thank You Ladies!
My pleasure Gene and you are quite welcome. Thanks to everyone who helped out, brought food,
cleaned up, showed up, and enjoyed the night. Some of you went above and beyond! You know
who you are and there aren't enough thanks.
It was an fantastic night. Beautiful venue - the decorations were lovely. Ample room, ample parking,
convenient location. We had so much food, we all went home stuffed. Our panel was entertaining,
lively and plain FUN! Don, Sandy and Gordon did an amazing job. Knowledgeable, interesting, and
informative - they didn't miss anything. (AM)
I had a lovely time seeing all of you again. Thanks again, Ann-Marie and Barry, for the ride to and
from the station, and just thanks to everyone!
May the coming year be better for everyone.
In love and remembrance,
