When Nature Calls
When nature calls.  Druids share a belief in the fundamentally spiritual nature of life.  Native American
religion tends to focus around nature:  landscape, animals, plants, and other environmental elements
play a major role.  In some stories nature literally calls - i.e. the full moon calls to the werewolf.  Hunger
calls to the Wendigo.
Nature and weather.  Nature and its impact literally, figuratively and in genre.

Face the Fiction....
Outlander (2014 - TV series)

This month we will view  extras and episodes of the popular Starz series, Outlander,
based on the novel by Diana Gabaldan.  The novel Outlander was our February Modern
Masters selection.  It was so well received, we thought it might be fun to follow-up with a
tie-in viewing of the series.

The Outlander and its subsequent sequels were written Diana Gabaldon and feature
elements of historical fiction, romance, mystery, adventure and science fiction/fantasy.
The series, follows the story of Claire Randall - that readers are introduced to in the
novel - a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to
1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is
threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young
Scottish warrior, a passionate relationship is ignited that tears Claire's heart between
two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.
